INDIVISIBLE

February 9 - March 3, 2017
Heejung Cho

Gallery HO SEOUL is pleased to present INDIVISIBLE, a solo exhibition featuring new works by Heejung Cho, on display February 9– March 3, 2017.

"How to compose harmonious thoughts?" artist Heejung Cho's question starts with pursing a harmonization. As a member of Korean society and a NYC artist, her perspective and standard of right and wrong were challenged since she relocated to NYC, where is the most open to culture, race, gender, religion, politic and education in the world. While she lives in between Seoul, Korea and NYC, U.S., she came to think there is no right and wrong in any issue and event in society rather there is only difference and a pursuit to harmony.

The series of works 'Indivisible' positions the viewer to consider their stance between seemingly oppositional forces. Each work features harshly contrasted materials and colors yet shares a balanced and exactly similar structure. These tensions challenge the viewer to balance their own perspective, inviting them to confront these alternatives by standing directly in the middle of each composition. This invitation, juxtaposed with the severe boundary separating each side of the piece reflects the harsh divisiveness of different ideas, beliefs, and perspectives in society. Through works, she strenghtens the acknowledgement of diversity, 'dialectique' thought and indivisible balance.

Gallery HO SEOUL hours are 11:00 am – 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday. For further information about the exhibition, please contact the gallery at info@galleryho.net
