Ton Mak, a visual artist hailing from Hong Kong, has carved a unique niche in the art scene with her delightful world of FLABJACKS. Raised in both New Zealand and the United Kingdom, Ton's artistic journey began through shared experiences with her mother in the realm of art therapy and life drawing classes.

 

After completing her degree in Anthropology at University College London, Ton delved into the creation of FLABJACKS — a universe populated by cheerful chubby characters known as "Pang Tuan" (Chubby Bun). These characters, with their curves and folds, resonate with the modern millennial psyche, exuding a deadpan disposition that brings insouciant joy and energy.

 

FLABJACKS goes beyond traditional illustrations, offering tangible connections through bean bags, plushies, and soft vinyl toys. Ton's creations invite viewers to interact, squish, hug, or simply hang out with her pals in their own homes.

 

Collaborating with renowned brands such as Nike, Gucci, Swatch, and Vans, FLABJACKS has left its distinctive and colorful mark throughout Asia, Europe, and the United States. Ton Mak's artistic philosophy revolves around bringing joy, happiness, and a slice of peace to those who befriend her characters.

 

Inspired by a diverse range of creators, from writers and chefs to gardeners, Ton finds empowerment in the passion, individuality, and behind-the-scenes magic of those dedicated to their craft. 나이키, 구찌, 스와치, 반스와 같은 유명 브랜드와의 협업을 통해 FLABJACKS는 아시아, 유럽, 미국 전역에 그녀만의 독특한 색깔을 남겼다. 현재 상하이와 샌프란시스코의 스튜디오에서 작업 중인 톤은 그녀의 예술을 통해 사람들에게 기쁨과 행복, 평온을 선사하는 것을 목표로 하고 있다.
