Seoul-based artist Jungyoun Kim works on a variety of works, from hand-painted watercolors and brush pens to digital drawing, manga, and GIF animation production. He was greatly influenced by the ‘Slam Dunks’ from his childhood, and in an honor of ‘Slam Dunks’ he was drawn to basketball and cartoons.

Graduating from the Department of Animation at Konkuk University, the artist has been working on multiple exhibitions and collaborations with various brands, and most recently did an international collaboration with Nike. Portraying the stories of current generations as the main subject, his work centers around fashion items, brands and sneaker culture. Through the characters with his detailed expressions on objects and fashion items, he brings the characters to reality, and connects the audience with his painting.

서울을 기반으로 활동하는 김정윤 작가는 수채화나 붓펜을 이용한 수작업부터 디지털 드로잉, 만화, GIF 애니메이션 제작 등 다양한 작업을 한다. 어릴 적 우연히 보게 된 슬램덩크에 큰 영향을 받았고 그때부터 농구와 만화를 좋아하게 되었다.

건국대 애니메이션과를 졸업하고 자연스레 개인 작업을 시작했으며, 현재까지 크고 작은 전시와 각종 브랜드와의 협업 작업을 진행하고 있다. 농구와 조던 등의 패션 아이템을 향한 관심, 소년과 소녀의 이야기들을 주된 소재로 작업하며 지금의 mz 세대가 좋아하는 감각적인 관심사를 그림으로 풀어낸다. 작품 속 등장인물 의 성향이나 취향, 화면이 다 담지 못하는 숨은 스토리 표현을 중요하게 생각하는 편이다. 견고한 필력을 바탕으로 하는 섬세한 인물 표현과 스토리 텔링이 특징이다.
