Manju Shandler is a visual artist and theatre designer. Shandler’s visual art is a personal meditation on current events; her work combines social commentary with myth and humor. She developed much of her language creating Gesture, a nearly 3,000 piece painting installation that is a memorial to 9/11. Shandler has shown her work at The Hammond Museum, The Honfleur Gallery, Governor’s Island Art Fair, and Bergdorf Goodman and group shows throughout the U.S., Amsterdam and Tel Aviv. She was a NYFA Artist/ Entrepreneur and received the University of Rhode Island’s Sea Grant for Visual Artists. Manju Shandler received a Bachelor of Arts from Bennington College in 1995. She lives and works in Brooklyn, New York.
